VICE PRESIDENT PROJECT RISK MANAGEMENT LEONARDO
Roberto Polidoro is the Vice President Project Risk Management in Leonardo, since July 2015.
He was Head of Program Management in WASS, a Finmeccanica Company, from January to June 2015. He also was President of UNAVIA, Associazione per la Normazione, Formazione e Qualificazione nel Settore Aerospaziale e Difesa, from January 2015 to May 2016.
Prior to the above current positions, he was CEO Senior Advisor in Alenia Aermacchi, a Finmeccanica Company, from June 2014 to January 2015. He was Chief Programs Officer of Alenia Aermacchi from September 2013 to June 2014. He was Quality Assurance and Certifications Senior Vice President for the same Company (formerly, Alenia Aeronautica), including its Subsidiaries, since July 2010. Appointed in November 2009, he was Senior Vice President of the Business Unit Refurbished Aircraft within the Military Airlift Division of Alenia Aeronautica.
From September 2008, Polidoro was Senior Vice President 787 Program Directorate of Alenia Aeronautica, and Chief Operating Officer of Alenia Composite, a Company controlled by Alenia Aeronautica and dedicated to the production of carbon fiber fuselage sections of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Between July 2007 and September 2008, Polidoro served as the Executive Vice President of Airbus Programs, with responsibility for the management of the activities performed by Alenia Aeronautica on all the involved Airbus Programs (A380, A321, A340, A300). Between March 2006 and July 2007, Polidoro was Vice President for the A380 Program activities performed in Alenia.
Before that assignment, he was – from 2003 – the C-27J Program Director. The C-27J is a medium sized military transport aircraft, Alenia proprietary product. From 2002 to 2003, Polidoro was the C-27J Chief Engineer.
In addition, Polidoro served as Head of General Systems Design for Alenia Aerospazio, a Finmeccanica Company. Before that assignment, Polidoro was Head of Systems Engineering for Alenia Area Aeronautica, Transport Aircraft Division. This position included activities on all transport (military and civil) aircraft Programs. Previously, Polidoro held many other management positions in the company including Head of Electrical and Electronic Systems Design and Head of Electrical Systems Design.
He joined the Finmeccanica Group in 1981 as an Electrical System Design specialist.
Born in Naples in 1956, Polidoro holds a Degree in Engineering from the Federico II University in Naples (Italy).
